Amy Winehouse

Here's something that I've been wanting to do for a while--a portrait of Amy Winehouse. Everytime I see a photo of her gaunt frame and big hair I just think, wow, she was born to be illustrated. And, please do not misinterpret me becuase I didn't make her a vision of lovliness, because I love Amy Winehouse and think she is an incredible artist.

Artistically this is another step forward for me and I'm excited about the road I'm going in. Here is also a little sequence showing my process. (The first part is certainly the most amusing!)

That's really hilarious! I love posing for my own illustrations, they always look ridiculous. Great final! Love her figure and expression!

Thanks Tina!

Yeah, posing for these myself is the easiest thing I can figure out. I usually have to cut the hands from different photos to get it exactly the way I want because I'm a naughty model and don't do the best single shots. My favorite part is that I didn't have a bottle of liquor and had to use salad dressing.

Hahaha awesome! Yeah I always cut and paste different hands and props to get it right, too.
So what have you been doing recently, besides posing for pictures?
