Self-Portraits are convenient.

I wanted to do a sketch and play with the oil-paint look in photoshop (because the last couple times I've tried to, I end up using the chalk tools and mess up the whole illusion.) I really enjoy smearing the paint around, it's a lot of fun to play around. I'd still like to get even more expressive, but I'm afraid to make mistakes. For shame.

Oooh I like! How are you doing the oil-paint look in Photoshop?

I use an oily brush that came in the Wacome Brushes II pack with my tablet. (it doesn't look like anything special, but it has a slightly hairy edge).

Then most of it is laying down really rich colors and constantly resampling with the ALT key and "smearing" the paint around.

And I suppose the final act is a texture overlay, but you know that magic already.

I didn't know Wacom had brushes! Since David got the new tablet, maybe he has the brushes too, I'll have to ask him.

It's on the disk, which I was reluctant to install, but happy that I did!
