Flapper
First off, this is so directly lifted from this month's Vogue that I don't want to take any credit for it. Just another sketch to develop my ability and speed at Photoshop painting. I liked the photo I did this from for two reasons: The first is that the model had lip enamel dabbed into the center of her lips and I thought it would be fun to capture that. The second is that the photoshoot is an homage to the fashion designer, Paul Poiret, who I did a project on (here).

Adam, this one is gorgeous! I love how most of it is implied and soft then her mouth and eyes are really developed and substantial. I'm really digging this new path your style has meandered to.
What she said x 100.
really.
Thanks for the comments. I think I'm finally learning how to be incredibly vague with a painting and only define the parts that I'm interested in (which is something that I've been doing, but unsucessfully for the last couple years). So, I'm pretty excited. It's funny--this type of portrait is exactly what I've always wanted to do and it just never worked, and something finally clicked in my brain. I still think I need to develop the quirky inked cartoony things that I do as a separate style.
