Here's a little sketch that I spent just a little bit too much time on. The pose is directly lifted from a delightful photoshoot in this month's Harper's Bazaar. I'm trying to gain speed and paint more expressively, so it would probably be a good idea to do a lot of quick sketches. Like 30-second poses in life drawing class...

I love the facial expression! The structure is great (bones, flesh, position). The colors are wonderful, too.
